During conversations with people, inner images spontaneously emerged in my mind that proved to be very vivid and accurate. These images also appeared with non-incarnated entities such as earthbound souls, but also angels or spirit guides. Over the years I began to consciously use these images therapeutically in trance work. I learned the corresponding hypnosis techniques such as regression or part therapy and the releasement of attachments.
Trance is a state of relaxation in which the brain frequency slows down, emotions become stronger and the mind fades into the background. The deeper causes of behaviour which cannot be understood nor controlled can be explored and cleared up with the support of an experienced coach.
Attachments are energies that do not belong to a person, but have taken hold there.
Trance Work with the Higher Self
The higher self is our innermost core and the source of energy and wisdom inherent in every human being.
Under trance and by connecting to the higher self, the attachments can be traced and removed from the person concerned.
Visualisation of Higher Self, Mind, Soul Body and Subconsiousness
1 Higher Self
2 Superconciousness
3 Day-consciousness
4 Soul Body
5 Subconsciousness
We master our everyday life with our mind, but we do not always act rationally. Feelings and preconceived ideas that we are not aware of can influence us; similarly, we sometimes experience higher guidance that we cannot explain. Neither the higher self and the superconsciousness nor the subconsciousness are usually accessible to us.
But when we place ourselves in a relaxed state and allow the mind to calm, we open ourselves to a world of subtler perceptions, to our higher self and the subconsciousness. We can build a bridge between the two. This bridge is crucial to the soul anchoring the higher self in the body, mostly in the heart.
The higher self knows our history, it knows how to resolve all entanglements and has the necessary energetic and healing resources.
I always connect with my client’s higher self through my higher self, allowing it to guide me. After each session I am surprised at the results. I would never have thought of it! – but each time it is so conclusive that I can only marvel.
1. Using this Visualisation as an Introduction to the Trance
(1) Grounding: Visualisation of roots from the feet and/or from the base chakra.
(2) Visualisation of an energy line from the base centre up to 30 cm above the head, towards a golden sphere, the higher self.
(3) Visualisation of a golden sphere in the centre of the body: the soul body.
This simple visualisation ensures the connection to the higher self and thus emotional stability and clear guidance through the session.
The script for the trance induction can be found in the appendix.
2. Comprehending Issues
The middle and longest part of a session consists of understanding and transforming stressful and painful issues.
The trance world has its own language and logic.
The unconscious contents show themselves through images, symbols and feelings.
The following sections show all that has opened up for me in the trance world.
The Importance of Fragments
Single Fragments
When an experience overwhelms us with intense feelings, we tend to repress them or withdraw ourselves from them and turn inward. This is called dissociating (disconnecting from thoughts, feelings, and memories). Energetically, these feelings have a carrier: a piece from the soul body detaches and floats around in the psyche. I call it a fragment. A thin thread to the higher self remains; but by its own power this fragment can no longer find its way back into the soul body and into the higher self.
Soul body with blasted fragment
So, a trance session is about tracking down these fragments in the psyche and bringing them back into the higher self. In shamanism this is called “soul retrieval”. To do this, I visualise a column of light with a push from below and a pull from above. The energies in it swirl into a spiral.
Fragment Clusters
When similar experiences are repeated, fragment clusters are created. They are thematically structured. They can go far back in time, from hundreds of previous incarnations. A common theme is the mixture of fear, anger and powerlessness that arises when one is a victim of violence and oppression. They radiate this energy and attract further painful experiences.
Fragment cluster
The Caravan
I have often observed how the coherent fragment clusters form back into individual fragments and arrange themselves into a row. I call it the caravan. From the higher self of the fragments I call down healing energy that neutralises the fear, anger and powerlessness. In addition, I visualise a column of light with an upward pull into which the fragments willingly allow themselves to be drawn. They feel they are now allowed to return home.

How to Find Fragments
In the preliminary talk for a session the topic has already been narrowed down; e.g. fear of rejection. Under trance it is then a matter of letting an emotionally charged scene and the story around it emerge. There are basically two possibilities:
1. Go for the feeling: Let yourself go into this fear… where in the body do you feel this fear?… How does it feel?… (e.g. a stone in the solar plexus) … What does your higher self show you about how we could dissolve this stone?…
Here the client often finds her own way to transform her burdening feeling.
2. Engaging with a memory, which leads directly to a fragment: Look at the anxious person from the outside… What does she look like?… How old is she?… What’s going on inside her?…
What does she feel?… What else does she feel?… Where in the body does she feel the fear?
One technique to grasp feelings is to personify them. They are then called personality parts. First I have the client describe her feeling. Sometimes it takes a bit of approximation until the feeling is clear, because there are often a variety of emotions overlapping. Let’s take “the panicky one”. What is she afraid of? (Rejection) What does she look like? (Dressed in rags, skinny, huddled in a corner with her hands in front of her face).
How to heal fragments
First, I build a field of compassion around her. Then we start to coax her and tease out of her what makes her panic. Most of the time she calms down just because she is finally seen and heard and surrounded with goodwill.
This being ignored and the associated feeling of being left alone is a terrible and unfortunately very common experience. They happen in interactions with people, but also within the psyche. The beauty is that you can heal this pain internally.
When coaxing and listening are not enough, energy work helps. If you know where the pain/anxiety is located in the body, you can let light from the higher self flow there, e.g. into the heart.
Parts are not blasted off as much as fragments, but still have an independent existence in the psyche and have to be reconnected to the higher self.
However, it can happen at any time that older fragments come along and have to be released by means of a spiral pull.
Releasing the three pacts
I very often experience that the fragments can neither be coaxed nor open themselves for energetic healing. Usually, it is possible to release the blockage by releasing the three pacts.
The first pact is the one with God when we fell into duality. The separation from God is the origin of all painful experiences.
The second is the pact with oneself: we chose to have all the experiences in order to consciously return to God afterwards.
The third is the pact with chosen persons: Before the incarnation, we have made arrangements with certain “helpers” through whom we can have our experiences.
The Formula
Let’s take the example of oppression by the father and later by the husband. This results in the following formula:
I hereby dissolve the pact with XY in relation to abuse/oppression of my free will!
I hereby dissolve the pact of my own to experience abuse/oppression of my free will!
I hereby release the pact with God of feeling separate from him and turn back to him!
The Eternal Now
In the trance world we are beyond time and space. There is the “eternal now”, where past and future come together in the present. We heal things from the past and reshape our future.
In this way it is possible to take the fragments from time immemorial out of the psyche and deliver them to the higher self. The cluster is released and new feelings of peace and self-empowerment are anchored in the soul body. The attraction changes towards positive experiences.
Another trick is to give fragments from the past, whether from this or past lives, healing from their future, i.e. the today’s present. The higher self and the soul body have evolved and have healing powers that the fragment would never have dreamed of. So, it can be a great joy and relief for a lonely, abused inner child to see how the adult self is happily married and has started a family of its own.
The Healing Room
If, in spite of all efforts, a part does not come to healing within a reasonable period of time, I send it to the healing room. This is an imaginary place of healing in the higher self where the work continues with the support of subtle helpers and energies. We then can move on to another subject.
Conflicting Parts
Who hasn’t experienced this: we would like to make a decision, but we are wavering back and forth, we are ambivalent. Let’s take the example of a woman who wants to break up with her boyfriend. On the one hand she suffers a lot from the relationship and wants to end it, on the other hand she is afraid of being alone. We can personify the two sides and give them names: The lonely/longing one and the annoyed/independent one.
These two usually don’t know about each other and struggle for dominance. The independent one breaks up with him, and a few days later the longing one lets her change her mind by the nice words of the “ex”. As long as no “mediation” has taken place on the part of the higher self, this little game continues unhindered.
Ideally, the two parts find a reconciliation and an energetic approximation: the longing one becomes more self-reliant and the independent one softer. This makes it easier to find a clear line.
As a young woman, I went through life as “the strong one”. It was only in my fifties that I got to know “the vulnerable one”. Paradoxically, I have become stronger since I have taken my vulnerability into account. As a result, I overtax myself less and no longer provoke breakdowns.
Fragments and Attachments
Every human being has “produced” countless fragments in the course of their incarnations. These often remain attached to the place of the event, e.g. a shipwreck or a massacre/battlefield, but are still connected to the higher self. This produces real gatherings of fragments who belong to different higher selves. I call these earthbound souls.
So the only difference between fragments and earthbound souls is that the fragments belong to my client and the earthbound souls to other higher selves. That is how I have defined it for myself. Accordingly, a release of earthbound souls takes place according to exactly the same principle as the healing of a fragment: both are returned to their respective higher selves.
So when a client comes into a crowd scene during a regression, I have to assume that earthbound souls are attached to her fragment. The common trauma has bound them together and they are awaiting redemption together. With the spiral pull upwards into the light, both individual fragments/souls and whole groups can be released.
I once had the most extreme experience in this regard on a 1 November – on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, when “soul lights” are lit on the graves. I “coincidentally” had a meeting with a Swiss woman who was married to an Italian. I came into contact with all the unredeemed Italian souls that were “activated” by these holidays and they literally rolled over me. I simply made the spiral pull a little bigger….
It looks like a swarm of mosquitoes in the sunlight, or like a swarm of bees flying ahead of me and rising into the light.
Swarm of mosquitoes
You must know that earthbound souls literally “smell” these pillars of light or portals and flock to them. Instinctively they recognise their chance and use it. So sometimes a simple releasement turns into a real mass exodus.
Sometimes individual souls remain who need extra treatment. In trance it is possible to telepathically find out their concerns, needs or pain/trauma. Often the clients can help me amazingly well with this. But I always do the releasements myself.
The Attachments are in the Psyche
When I started with releasements, I assumed that earthbound souls were in the aura. As I delved deeper and deeper into the psyche, I discovered that earthbound souls can be hidden in the encapsulated fragments. These have been sealed as a protective measure so that they can only be traced under trance.
Only a Part of the Higher Self Incarnates
In the soul body there is only a part of the higher self, and the fragments/earthbound souls are again only a part of the soul body. It is quite possible that the higher self has already formed a new soul body, i.e. has incarnated, but fragments are still floating around freely.

How I Support as a Coach
Since the client is very suggestible in trance and I work without a hypnosis script, a non-judgemental and non-violent inner basic attitude and language are indispensable for me as a coach. For 15 years I have been undergoing intensive training in my everyday life to get the “Six Meddling Manikins” under control.
Neutralising the “Six Meddling Manikins”
When talking to people, many communication mistakes happen. In my case, I observe how impulses arise internally when I listen. It is like an itch to want to say something now. Figuratively speaking, a little manikin emerges, jumping up and down like a child at school who raises his hand and hopes to be called upon. He is full of eagerness to share his knowledge. In my case, this means: “I want to show myself now”, or: “I want to show now how wise, clever and experienced I am “.
This meddling manikin has different facets:
1) he wants to give his (negative) comment (a little more flippantly: to add his two cents);
2) he wants to help;
3) he wants to give advice;
4) he wants to tell about himself or others;
5) he wants to share an insight about the other person;
6) he reproaches. All this, of course, without being asked!
It takes place roughly as follows: A friend tells me about a visit to the doctor because of pain in her leg. She was simply given painkillers without the doctor listening to her or examining her more closely.
When the manikins become active, the answer of the listener is something like this: “What did these doctors learn in their expensive studies, which we are financing? (Spiteful comment).
“That you just let yourself be fobbed off like that! You need to defend yourself; I’ve noticed other times that you don’t stand up for yourself.” (Reproach plus advice plus insight about the other person).
“Watch out that it’s not a thrombosis. My sister-in-law had to go to hospital because of that”. (Telling horror stories from one’s own experience.)
“She was then given this medicine, which would certainly be something for you, better than ibuprofen”. (Advice).
“I’ll ask her about her medication and her doctor”. (Want to help).
With these answers, the poor friend feels as disregarded and misunderstood as she does when she goes to the doctor. On the contrary; she gets into the justification loop.
A reaction without all the manikins would be: “How do you feel now?” Or, a little less therapeutic: “Oh, that was poor. Do you think this painkiller is enough, or is there more behind your pain?” “What are you planning to do now?”
The art of asking open questions is important. In my case, many perceptions about my client come rushing during a session, but instead of asking, “Are you scared?”, which is a leading question, I ask, “What do you feel?” When then the answer is, “A little nervous,” I follow up with, or “Tell me more about what and how you are feeling”. And, I keep to myself what I feel. I use my feelings more as a pointer.
Synchronisation with the client
Basically, I go with the client into a trance and of course into the alignment. The more stable the coach is connected, the safer the client feels and the deeper she can go. The alignment of the brain frequency with that of the coach allows the client easier access to the subconsciousness and at the same time gives her the strength to face whatever comes up. Often there are these magical moments where I synchronise with the client. If not, I follow the client’s lead.
Giving Space
Allowing Strong Emotions with Support
When emotions are strong, there is a fear of literally losing one’s “composure”. In fact, in such moments the protective layer of the aura dissolves or is torn, making the person vulnerable. In addition, they have the feeling of losing their self and control; a state that is perceived as very threatening.
Drawing: Strong emotions tear open the protective layer of the aura
Thus, the psyche does everything it can to “hold together” the explosive emotions, but inside this creates great pressure, like in a pressure cooker. The problem is never the emotion itself, but that it is suppressed and encapsulated.
Suppressed emotions in the pressure cooker
When I give space, I create a protective aura around the pot. Into the aura comes a field of unconditional acceptance. Now it is possible for the psyche to release the explosive emotions in a controlled way. Depending on the emotion, I offer different “antidotes” into the field: with despair empathy, with fear peace or confidence, with anger forgiveness. Sometimes all this is too strong and only neutrality is best, for example, when it is about suppressed freedom of the will.
Opening of the pot under protective aura
The Acceptance Formula
Another way to create inner space is the following formula:
- Fear, I welcome you
- Fear, you are allowed to be
- Fear, I accept you
- Fear, I love you
- Optional, best only when the fear has been truly accepted:
- Fear, I heal you
- Fear, I let you go
This formula can be applied to any desired feeling. I usually speak the sentences and let the client repeat them. It is very helpful with feelings of uncertainty or fear of uncertainty.
The paper-thin Wall between Hope and Fear – Making Friends with Uncertainty.
When someone is in an existential crisis, the uncertainty of how to go on is very burdensome. Normally, people try to save themselves in a hope (“everything will be all right”), or their mind forges plans that cannot be realised anyway. It is much more honest and healing to admit to yourself that you are at your wits’ end, are helpless and at a loss. Then a basic trust can arise from the soul body or from the higher self, one that is simply and unconditionally there, against all reason.
Various types and depths of trance
In classical trance work/hypnosis, the client is put into a relaxed state and the hypnotist reads out suggestions. In interactive trance work, the client is involved. He traces his issues himself. As a hypno-coach I only guide the process. However, if attachments arise, I take over the release.
There are various depths of trance; I work with so-called light trance, also called alpha state. It is like the semi-conscious state when you fall asleep or wake up; you hear the phone ringing, for example, and you can also pick it up. Consciousness is present at all times. It is always possible to react to external stimuli such as a doorbell or when you have to go to the toilet, and find your way back into the trance.
Concerns
Many people are afraid to face their shadows of the subconscious.
Some clients have reservations about getting involved with strong, unknown feelings. They fear being overwhelmed by them and not being able to find their way out.
The aforementioned alignment to the higher self takes place through the visualisation of a line of light from the base centre to above the head. This light counterbalances the dark feelings from the subconscious and stabilises the client to such an extent that a transformation can take place. The coach’s guidance prevents clients from getting stuck in bad states or coming out of a session retraumatised. I have never had anyone get stuck in a bad feeling. On the contrary, at the end of the session people feel released, relieved and filled with light.
Another fear is to get lost in the trance, to be so far away that you lose your will and your mind. In the light trance, the connection to reality is maintained at all times.
Outlook
Although I have already carried out many processes, it is always fascinating for me to dive into the parallel world of trance and to learn to find my way around there. With every process I have the feeling that I have gotten to the root of an issue and transformed it. This leaves both my clients and myself with a very deep sense of satisfaction. It also satisfies my curiosity for stories and coherences.
Appendix: The Structure of a Session
A session is structured as follows: 1. Induction, 2. Comprehending and transformation of the issue, 3. Return to day-consciousness/counting out. The trance script in the appendix describes the induction and the counting out in detail. The comprehending and transformation of the respective issue are explained in the second paragraph.
1. Script for the Trance Introduction/Induction
General relaxation
We detach ourselves from everyday life… let all tension fall away from us… and allow ourselves to breathe… With each breath, our breathing becomes deeper and calmer… we surrender to the ups and downs of our breathing… our thoughts are slowing down…
Grounding
Lying down/sitting cross-legged: Make contact with the bed/sofa you are lying/sitting on… your body relaxes and becomes heavier and heavier… the heavier you become, the more you are being carried by Mother Earth…
Sitting on the chair: Feel into the soles of your feet… how does the floor feel?… Visualise brown roots going deep into the earth… Absorb the earth energy through these roots….
How does it feel?
Aligning to the Higher Self
Now visualise an energy line from the buttocks to above the head through the whole spine… about 30cm above the head there is a golden ball of light, a sun…
Anchoring in the Soul Body
Go back into your body with your attention… Look for your spark of light…
Where in the body do you find it? (For most people it is in the heart, but it can also be in the head, for example).
Visualise a golden ball of light around it….
Building the Safe Place (mostly a place in nature, e.g. a meadow with a tree)
Now visualise a safe place… let your higher self show it to you….
What does it look like there? How is the air? Where are you?
Do you see anyone else?
Whom do you want to invite? (Depending on your faith, power animals, guardian angels, spirit guides, angels, Jesus, Mary, Krishna etc.). If there is no faith at all, the higher self is enough).
How does it feel to be there? What is it like to have the light figures there?
These questions serve to deepen the trance and stabilise the emotional connection to a higher power. Finally, we will deal with burdensome and threatening issues in a moment. (See: “How to find fragments”).
Short Version
After a few sessions I am usually so in tune with the client that we can make the induction shorter.
We ground ourselves… align with the higher self and our higher selves with each other… we anchor ourselves in the soul body and safe place and invite our spiritual helpers… we ask for their presence and help….
2. Transforming the issue (described at the beginning of the article)
3. Counting out
To conclude the process I count the person out of the trance:
(5) Stretch out
(4) Breathe in and out deeply
(3) Come back into the room, the body and the day-consciousness
(2) Open your eyes
(1) You are completely relaxed in the here and now
