The art of healing seems to be multi-dimensional. Apart from the story narrative, much wisdom is shared and the key to practice is given which is even more valuable. The author narrates the episodes in the third person (Saukumarya). In Sanskrit Saukumarya means “softness”. So, healing happens as soft as it is in tune with the character of the author. It is an impersonal act that happens through him. A magnet cannot but magnetize.
His ability to transmit subtle wisdom through teaching is well known. Whatever he teaches, he heals too. Healing is not only a science but also an art. The artistic way Saukumarya availed various agencies to heal deeply touches the heart. That healing is a happening in love.

Episode 3
It was in the year 1979.
Saukumarya was in New Delhi, India, on account of certain professional work. He was to work out a solution to a client which had legal implications. An experienced lawyer that functioned in supreme court was to be interacted with. The lawyer was around 45 years of age. He was professionally very competent and was also popular. Saukumarya was to interact with him for the sake of his client.
In two days’ time the lawyer found in Saukumarya besides a professional, also a good friend. He started sharing his personal life when they were dining together and moving around together in New Delhi. He also found a philosopher in Saukumarya, though younger in age, and started revealing his personal life to him. He even invited Saukumarya to his house for dinner. At home there were his aged mother, his spouse and two children, 9 and 11 years of age, a boy and a girl. His life was well set. He had a good profession and a beautiful family. This is what every human aspires for.
Later (after dinner) the lawyer preferred to drop Saukumarya at the hotel where he lodged. He said to Saukumarya, “May I join you tomorrow for breakfast? I wish to seek your counsel on an important issue in my life. It is personal.” Saukumarya nodded his head in affirmation and said, “You are most welcome.”
Next day morning the lawyer friend arrived as per schedule and during breakfast he said, “I prepared my last will and testament, settling my properties amidst my family members. I apportioned a certain percentage of the property for acts of benevolence. In you I find a friend, a philosopher and a wise man. I wish to show the testament before I register it to make it enforceable after my death. Would you be so kind to look into it and suggest any amendments that you may deem necessary from your standpoint?”
Saukumarya said, “There is no need to look at the testament you have prepared. In fact there is no need for a testament at all, for now. You have a long life to live. You do not die in the immediate future. I perceive that you have some perception that you would die in the next two to four years, which is false.” The lawyer interrupted and said, “But more than one astrologer, a palm reader and a guru informed that I do not live beyond 49 years. All of them cannot be wrong. The probability seems high. On what basis do you say that I live long?”
Saukumarya said, “I have seen you over 4 days, and I have seen your family members. We dined together many times in these 4 to 5 days. I noticed that you are heading towards a health crisis but not a fatal crisis. When you live in a group as a family, there is a group karma. The karma of the family also neutralizes personal karma. This is because there is sharing of energies in the family. The energy of other family members has its positive or negative impact on you. From the standpoint of your family members, there is much positive energy flowing to you. It enables you to transcend the crisis.”
“You are prone for heart attack since you are overweight. I have seen you eat greater quantities than what you need. In your breathing there is a little effort. You don’t have effortless breathing. It indicates that you need to immediately regulate your eating habits and pick up a health program, including morning walks that reduces your weight. When your body weights is normal your breathing tends to be normal. Then you avert the possible crisis. At any rate there is no such thing as death as indicated by others. Eliminate this thought. Instead institute what I said. You will live long. You ensure that your children settle well. You would even see your grandchildren. You will do much charity in memory of your ancestors.”
The lawyer friend was much relieved, he even expressed a sigh of relief. He said, “Shall we have one more cup of coffee to celebrate this news?” Saukumarya smiled “Yes, only if you give me your word that you do what I said, and you tear away the draft testament. Hope you haven’t shared it with your lady.”
The two friends had a joyful additional cup of coffee. Saukumarya left New Delhi on the same day evening bidding farewell to the lawyer friend.
Five years passed by. One day morning at 10:30 am Saukumarya received a phone call and a voice spoke, “Do you cognize my voice, friend? I am your lawyer friend from Delhi. Today my family and friends are celebrating my golden jubilee year (50th birthday). I remembered you and your prophetic utterances. I am ever grateful to you. All is well here. You gave me the right direction at the right time. You are a God sent messenger to me.”
Saukumarya said, “The Divine has many messengers. You are to live and serve. If not me some other would have carried the message. I am glad that you are out of all the wayside astrologers and palmists. Believe in your work and live your life, offering it to others benefit (family is included). By the way how is your mother? Take care of her. Fulfill her wishes. She may not live much longer.”
The lawyer said, “Thank you my friend. Please do not forget to let me know if you come to Delhi.” The lawyer still lives as per the date of this script (2020).
