Introduction
Death is the subject of current times. The mystery of death is ever engaging the mystics, the occultists and the scientists alike. That there is no death is what the man of wisdom says. “To die is not to die”, says Sanat Kumara to a king. “Death is but a departure but not termination of soul’s journey” is yet another statement. It is expected that majority of humanity would eventually know in the centuries to come (2424 AD) that the death is but a departure. The teachings of Himalayan hierarchy of late through Madam HP Blavatsky and Madam Bailey state emphatically that death is to the personality but not to the soul, the indweller. Wisdom is seen as the means to realize the soul’s deathlessness and the personality’s periodical emergence and mergence. The wave emerges from the ocean and merges again into the ocean. Ocean remains, waves emerge and merge back into the ocean.
The wisdom demands that man shifts his identity from being a personality to a person, to a soul. This shifting of awareness is what is called “an initiation” which happens through constant recollection and through realization of what is transient and what is permanent.
When one functions as a soul he knows that he periodically develops personality to fulfill certain experiences and thereafter when the tasks are done he releases himself from personality. But men live as personalities with the deep attachment to their name, the form, the color, the race, the nation, the gender, the social status, and so on, whereas men of wisdom live as souls unattached and unaffected by the personality that gathers around itself. The identity with personality is for the world not for the one who develops and presides over it. The wise man who lives as soul remembers himself as I AM THAT I AM. He does not take to other identities. This paradigm shift is but necessary to solve the riddles of life and enjoy the sail through life.
In the ultimate analysis healing includes death. Many times death is seen as a solution to many dimensions of ill health, to release the soul from suffering. That is how in nature death has come to stay.
A short note every month is dedicated upon the profound concept of death, in this magazine, which may benefit the readers.
