Paracelsus & Teachings
Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim (1493-1541), who called himself Paracelsus, ranks as the founder of a new medical science. He was far ahead of his time with his philosophical thinking which formed the base of his medical doctrine.
At the focus of it is man as the microcosm, as analogy and image of the macrocosm that surrounds him.
Paracelsus devoted his entire life to the search for the origins of diseases and their cure with natural remedies. His knowledge of minerals and metals, elements and herbs, astrology and alchemy sheds much light on the mystery of healing. Paracelsus, the physician, healer, and philosopher understood man and nature as a unity. For a long time, Paracelsus was, due to his life philosophy, considered to be a dreamer, idealist and mystic.
In truth, however, he was a guide, wishing to point out to his fellow human beings the way of leading a happy, healthy, and fulfilled life.
