3.1 What intervenes with life is sometimes life itself!
Health is considerably more than just the absence of physical disturbances. On the physical level it mainly comprises to the greatest extent freedom from harmful substances, metabolic residue and toxins. General ageing must not be called an illness; it is rather a manifestation of life, in the deepest sense a change of the appearance.
The healing of a disease means that the sick person returns into the flow of life. He/she is healed even if the person has suffered irreparable, irreversible, and irrevocable damage during the course of the disease. The person might then not be healthy again in a physical sense, but will be healed in the sense of a positive, life-affirming attitude.
Healing is only possible through the person himself. “Natura sanat, sed medicus curat morbos!“ (Nature heals the disease, the physician tends and cares!) The ”inner doctor“ who exists in every person provides the correction of the body which has lost its orientation. However, the organism requires help which is made available in all sorts of possibilities. The only decisive factor is whether the individual person is prepared to take the necessary steps.
However, in this context it must explicitly be stated that one has to differentiate between repairing and healing! What kind of demands the sick person has with regard to this process mainly depends on his attitude! Quite a lot is possible in this domain: from the already mentioned repair to the offer of crutches, from supports to the dispensation thereof. Most of the time, people remain with their crutches and therefore never reach an easy, free and upright way of walking in their lives.
The mineral substances according to Dr. Schuessler are also crutches or supports, As usual, they enable the filling up of the storages due to which the organism will organize itself again in a satisfactory way. Indirectly, they facilitate changes on the physical level, on the level of the mind, feeling, energy, and colours. In principle, these mineral substances – same as many other intervention possibilities – are an offer for becoming healthy. Holding on to life has to be done by the sick person himself, and with the liveliness attained, he will have the chance to work on the blockages. This way, he is equipped for trusting the flow of life again.
In fact, the sick person is the main character in the entire process, without whom nothing really works. Often enough, various interventions achieve temporary success, but after a while, the evil re-emerges. The sick person had not moved an inch inwardly, or the conditions surrounding him were not sufficiently changed. These changes, too, require at least the consent of the patient.
3.2 The effectivity of the mineral substances according to Dr. Schuessler
Dr. Schuessler wrote in his “Abgekürzte Therapie“2,
”The remedy has to be diluted in such a way that its released molecules are able to enter into the blood through the epithelium of the oral cavity3, the throat, and the esophagus, and through the walls of the capillaries.“
This reference in the scripture of Dr. Schuessler is also the background for the instruction to keep the mineral substances in the mouth for as long as possible. This will enable the active ingredients to enter the body without any hindrance, to permeate it, resp. to diffuse it, as the specific term is called.
Also the already frequently cited Dr. Schneider makes a corresponding hint that points out the influence of gastric acid if the mineral substances are swallowed:
“Resorption4 also requires homeopathic dosages. Administered in high doses, the remedy reaches into the stomach. There, however, iron is changed under the influence of gastric acid and phosphoric acid into hydrochloric acid iron. Also the other biochemical remedies, which are in fact all salts, have to convert to hydrochloric salts under the influence of the hydrochloric acid of the stomach. However, if we administer a homeopathic titration, the absorption will already take place in the oral cavity and in the throat. The remedy reaches the bloodstream unchanged, the blood carries it through the entire body, but does not deposit it randomly anywhere, but the hypersensitive sick cells recognize the presence of the remedy and draw it actively towards themselves.“ 5
Since their first publication, the effectivity of the mineral substances according to Dr. Schuessler has aroused the ghosts. It came to frequently initiated disputes, mainly already with Dr.Schuessler and his adversaries. This is the reason why we are also occupying ourselves with this subject.
Further above, we have already pointed out that also the different potentializations of one and the same remedy can have different effects (D3, D6, D12). Therefore it is relevant for a homeopath which potencies he uses for different substances. This also concerns the mineral substances according to Dr. Schuessler.
According to various kinds of research, the cell closes up if its environment builds up too high mineral substance concentrations. However, the way in which the more finely prepared mineral substances according to Dr. Schuessler can go past these concentrations into the cells which are closing up gives rise to speculations.
A very obvious conclusion lies in the fact that the various concentrations have their own respective “keys“ for entering into the cell. A simple comparison will explain the connection in more detail: we know water in its three aggregate states as ice, liquid and gaseous as steam. If one equates the different aggregate states with the different concentrations of the substances it becomes evident that not every form of the respective substance is able to permeate others. Where ice could never reach, water will flow quite easily. However, where water – due to its comparatively large density – cannot reach, the form of steam will still be able to go.
Various potentializations have different effects; they are like different keys for the cell:
Lower potencies = physical effects
Medium potencies = energetic effects
High potencies = informational effect
3.2.1 Is a wholesome and responsible kind of nutrition enough?
Time and again, people following a wholesome diet ask the question whether a high-quality nutrition suffices for the prevention of shortcomings.
In the chapter on the origin of deficiencies, in the section on nutrition, we have pointed out the following situation: in his time, Dr. Schuessler did not have to deal with industrially modified food. He was able to assume that people provided with sensible nourishment would also take up the necessary mineral substances. That has remained the same to this day!
If in these days, people have to suffer from functional disorders due to unreasonable nutrition then these are not the complaints which can be treated by means of mineral substances according to Dr. Schuessler. These problems can be remedied by a balanced, sensible and wholesome nutrition. This is the reason why such disturbances hardly occur in cases of a wholesome diet. To the contrary, such people are quite healthy and have a positive basic constitution.
If we have the problem of functional disorders, resp. of diseases occurring for a different reason, namely due to a fine-matter deficiency inside the cell, then this cannot be remedied only by means of a positive nutrition. The respective deficiencies usually do not occur on the physical level, – as it becomes transparent by the conception of man explained in the introductory chapter. In his time, Dr. Schuessler has dealt with these, and we still have to deal with them in our time.
In his script, “Allopathie, Biochemie und Homöopathie“ he concerned himself with this subject as follows:7:
“One will find details on the effect of the above mentioned minerals in my biochemical therapy which was recently published under the title “Eine abgekürzte Therapie“ in the 22nd edition.“
The just mentioned minerals – if they are to be applied as a remedy – have to be administered in the form of molecules. The free molecules enter through the epithel of the mouth and throat cavity and through the walls of the capillary tubes situated there into the blood and then difuse8 everywhere into the organism. Part of the diffused molecules reaches into the focus of the disease and provides coverage to a deficiency which is the cause of the respective disease.
Those healings which take place by means of the molecules of the above mentioned minerals are biochemical healings
Biochemistry aims at the direct correction of the chemistry which has escaped from the norm.
Some doctors have raised objections against the biochemical healing method by which they have given proof of a glowing testimony of their mental laziness.
They say, “As all mineral substances biochemistry is making use of are contained in the nutrients which the person introduces into his stomach and intestines; therefore the biochemical remedies are unnecessary; the minerals contained in the food products must heal the diseases, the more so because the sick persons get large quantities of them.“
Who thinks this way will disregard the following situations:
- The minerals naturally contained in the food products are organically connected with the proteins of the same.9
- Proteins and the organically connected minerals travel from the intestine on the way of the portal vein and the liver into the right heart, etc.
- After they have reached into the tissues from the arterial blood, they serve the young cells as material for growth.
- The free molecules of a mineral substance administered for therapeutical purposes – as stated above – reach into the blood by taking the shortest way in order to carry out the coverage of a deficit of the respective mineral substances.“
In this section, Dr. Schuessler presents a brief summary of his entire healing method as it certainly still valid for us today.

3 Epithel [Greek] (epithelial tissue, epithelium), single or multi-layer (vertebrate animals), planar tissue which covers all body surfaces and inner surfaces of most animal multicellular organisms. One distinguishes according to their shape: 1. Plate epithel of flat, plate-shaped cells, lines a.o. blood and lymph vessels; 2.Plaster epithel of cube-shaped cells, lines the renal tubules; 3. Cylinder epithel of long, rectangular shaped cells, lines a.o. The interior of the gastro-intestinal tract. One differentiates according to the respective main function: covering epithel with protective function; gland epithel with strong secretion; neuro-epithel, consisting of individual sensory cells (e.g., olfactory epithelium); ciliated epithelium, whose cells have lashes that either generate a liquid flow (e.g., ciliated epithelium of the bronchial tubes), or, situated on the outside of the body, serving locomotion. © Meyers Lexikon

6 Wholesome does in any case not only mean grains, but it means that the food items are as much as possible supplied for the body with their full value, i.e., as UNVERFÄLSCHT and undestroyed as possible. These are vegetable, salads or fruit which were organically cultivated, as well as natural fats and cold-pressed oils and freshly milled grains.
