Fever – a Grace of Nature
Nature, that is to say the cosmic laws, are always endeavoring to liberate all living beings from disease. They use every possibility to introduce healing processes. Over the centuries, humanity has become increasingly afraid of the healing processes, because such self-healing powers were less and less comprehensible to them. As a result, disease processes took on an increasingly virulent form, causing even more anxiety.
How could the disease processes gain virulence? When man wanted to prevent these recovery processes, he resorted to measures that disrupted sensitively the natural healing process. Due to this fact, a remnant of the disease and its deep roots remained within the organism. By suppressing these natural processes, human attention has been diverted from the real meaning of the disease-causing processes. The disease grew more or less in secrecy, gaining strength and virulence. For example, if a weed is cut off and then forgotten, in no time, it will become bigger than before. Once a person has suppressed a recovery process, it will be even harder for him to withstand the next illness. He will be more inclined to fall back into the familiar patterns of oppression, especially as the diseases have now gained virulence. For many centuries man has resorted to ever greater repressive measures.
About 200 years ago, a slow transformation in the consciousness of the human being took place. The forces of destruction were so strong before, that healers could not express their views in public without risking their lives. Many great healers were killed because of their healing success; Paracelsus was stoned and countless healers burned as witches.
True healers were forced to work in the underground. With the onset of a transformation of consciousness which still continues, the virulence of the disease has slowly declined. However, this was not the case during the time after World War I.
Nevertheless, the prevailing medicine developed ever stronger suppression measures. This type of medicine did not keep up with the overall development of humanity. During the last two centuries, completely new findings and a tremendous knowledge about the origin of the diseases and their healing were gained. The most varied natural healing methods have been and are being developed. Conventional medicine has kept up with this increase in knowledge only insofar as it invented ever greater counter-measures. As a result, chronic diseases have reached a tremendous, unprecedented level as far as their maliciousness is concerned. The discovery of penicillin had the most devastating consequences, because all antibiotics are, as the name indicates, directed against the lives of all creatures. They can cause such suppression that in some cases the self-healing powers cannot penetrate.
The fear to get sick is so common today that at the slightest fever, there is panic. Fever belongs to the fire element. Fire is the highest and the most powerful of all elements. If it is accepted and allowed to burn, then it burns everything morbid and impure to ashes. That is precisely the purpose of fever: to burn toxins in the body. Fever accompanies many acute diseases and knows different manifestations according to the condition of the individual and the structure of the disease.
When is fever really dangerous? In case of diseases which really could have a dangerous effect. This point comes into play only if the healing process is not naturally supported, or if the patient has drastically run down his body. The height of fever does not decide on its harmfulness. With fever, total fasting is the top priority. Here it clearly shows how antibiotics are adverse to nature. If they are taken via the stomach, the patient has to eat something, otherwise the gastric mucous membranes are damaged too much. Furthermore, the needs of the fevered patient must be respected, e. g. supply of fresh air, heat or cold, quantity and temperature of drinks, quietness or company.
Is it necessary to drink much in case of fever?
The healing process will be stopped, when liquids are supplied in case of thirstlessness, in order to be able to carry out the healing processes correctly, the body has to produce a dry heat in certain conditions. Certain chemical processes of combustion require a certain blood and lymphatic condition. The supply of liquids would prematurely dilute blood and lymph, disrupting thus the process. If one waits long enough, the thirst will come at just the right time and just as much as the body needs. Whether the patient wants to drink ice cold or hot always complies with the organism’s need for certain chemical reactions.
At the beginning of an acute illness, there may be a wrong hunger, i.e. it is no real hunger, just the habit of eating something. In exceptional cases (such as phosphorus), however, there is also the right hunger in some feverish patients. In such a case, the hunger must be satisfied, but with very light food, e. g. steamed vegetables, rusks, oatmeal gruel. At some point, the hunger will stop. There are always strange cases where you have to distinguish with great empathy whether it is a real need.
The following case should clarify this: A boy of about 10 years was seriously ill with high fever. He always asked for salami, which of course was not given to him. He was almost comatose and called for salami during his short waking phases. As his mother already expected his imminent death, she thought that now she could not make anything wrong by fulfilling his last wish. So, she gave him a small salami to eat. And see what happened! The boy became healthier from hour to hour. That’s real tuberculinism!
If a sick person freezes and wants to have all the windows closed, it is certainly not good for him to provide fresh air. Conversely, if someone constantly demands cold, fresh air even in pneumonia, and on top of that he hardly wants to be covered, it would in no way be advantageous to cover him well and keep all the windows closed.
To illustrate: A small girl in northern India was suffering from severe pneumonia with high fever. In the middle of winter, to find me, the mother, with her almost comatose child, had to drive over 15 km in one of the usual open rickshaws. The cold wind blew constantly on the girl, and when they arrived at 2 clock at night, the child was up again. It did not look like that it had been seriously ill a few hours ago. I gave one dose of Pulsatilla in high potency and until the next morning the child was totally restored.
To conclude, if someone fully goes through a fever and supports it in a natural way, then the life force succeeds to regenerate everything sick.
After a “fever-cure”, you feel like being reborn and to be a completely different person. It’s so wonderful that you can hardly describe it – you have to experience it!
Calf-compresses
The widespread fear of high temperatures compels many people to use fever-reducing drugs instead of applying cooling measures, such as calf-compresses. But this does not serve the body. Cooling measures can of course be used in life-threating situations or if no proper homeopathic help can be given.
Sometimes, however, anxiety symptoms can occur, such as delirium or febrile convulsions. With proper homoeopathic treatment, such symptoms can be brought under control very quickly. Even high temperatures that last a few days leave no harm to a healthy child or adult, unless suppressed, or the patient has a weak heart or is weakened by old age.
