It is very deep acting drug. Its effect is long lasting. It disturbs all the functions of the person. This is frequently useful. It is important both in acute and chronic diseases.

Main Key Notes of this drug: Anxiety, restlessness, fear (of death), prostration of mind, burning.

False Symptoms

Fevers – remittent and intermittent, renal calculus, gall stones, prostrate gland, urinary infections, dropsy, ascites, ulcers, vomiting, summer diarrhea, cardiac diseases, asthma etc.

General Symptoms

• People requiring this drug is active with sharp minds, adjusts to the environments quickly.
• Restlessness, cannot rest anywhere as a consequence of fright, inclination to commit suicide.
• Restlessness, anxiety, burning, Prostration, debility, anguish,
• Fear of death
• They look prematurely old, wrinkles on the face.
• Digestive troubles

Mental Symptoms

• Fastidious – mania for neatness – known as “a patient of Gold-headed cane”.
• Too much thinking and planning, will not be able to execute anything.
• He will have fixed ideas.
• Aversion to acquaintances – Looses enthusiasm.
• Imagines that somebody formerly offended him.
• Great sadness and melancholy, mental depression and despair of recovery.

Modalities

• All sufferings are aggravated between 12 to 2 AM and/or 12 noon to 2 PM.
• Amelioration from heat.
• In periodical affections if the disease goes deeper, interval increases it becomes intense and dangerous.
• In Mental Cases, wants to sit near the fire. After the attack is over, wants cold air.
• If the sufferings are below the neck they are aggravated from chill and ameliorated by warmth.
• If the sufferings are above the neck, the head is aggravated by warmth and ameliorated by cold or cold weather.

Causation

• Post operated cases.
• Poisoning.
• Living under constant fear.
