The Gift and Test of Aries
The gift of adaptability
Aries represents the type for a fresh start and for all beginnings. Spring-like, he rises from the winter inertia. New seeds germinate through him. His seeds are ideas, images of the new, which he already visualises in his mind. Each idea transmits a kind of energy spark and triggers a thrust within him, a spontaneous impulse. Like a seed, he wants to break through the wintery, heavy topsoil of the old, in order to realize the new in the most direct way. Every detour seems to wear out his energy, it is an obstacle that has to be taken. He wants to make a breakthrough, is full of impatience and fighting to the end.
Every idea of the Divine Spirit is the answer to a need of nature. Such an idea should set something in motion, initiate a movement to satisfy this very need. The Divine Spirit implants this idea into Aries to transmit this new spiritual impulse to others. Aries should inspire and fertilise them, so that his seed becomes effective and his purpose gets fulfilled.
However, the unconscious Aries reacts instinctively to the impulses of the Divine Spirit. He simply wants to get rid of the impulse energy transmitted to him and to implement it vehemently into actions or utterance. He is primarily concerned with the act of releasing the impulse. The result of it is of secondary importance to him, but not to the Divine Spirit. The purpose of the impulse is its effectiveness. The more conscious Aries becomes, the clearer he understands that many of his impulses are often blown out ineffectively due to his stormy and aggressive nature.
Not only the seed of Aries is needed, but also his subsequent integration into the environment. He must be accepted by others. In return, the Divine Spirit gives him the gift of adaptability. The seed has to satisfy the need of those who have evoked it by their need and request. Consequently, this is about adapting to the needs of others and not, as it could easily be misunderstood, the adaptation of the seed itself. The key of the new idea, Aries’ message, must remain intact.
Aries is the wallbreaker. Like a plant shoot, he finds his way through a hard ground to the sunlight. However, not violent tearing down leads to the goal, but accepting and intense work. The conscious Aries type accepts laborious detours as long as they promote the breakthrough. Friendliness, understanding and sociability as well as clarity in the matter itself are supporting him. For him, it is important to build bridges that open up access to his ideas to others. At the same time, he must prevent his spiritual seed from being worn out unresistingly.
This is the mythical path of Aries from the fighter to the sacrificial lamb. The lamb accepts the conditions of life and sacrifices himself to the organic process in realizing a divine idea. It is the fulfilment of the Divine Spirit that wants to be gained. It is the same Spirit that feeds Aries with new impulses and gives him a fulfilled and satisfying life.
Both life and spirit work in rhythms. To adapt to it is most valuable for Aries. As soon as he has developed a feeling for the right moment and the right measure, he can use his energy effectively. Conscious pauses and regular rest increase his endurance enormously. If he functions economically with his life energy, it is available to him in sufficient quantity for the realization of his ideas. He can take more risks than others, because everything of value to the Divine Spirit is protected by it.
The test of isolation
Aries stands for the beginning, the birth of something new. He receives ideas from the Divine Spirit and transmits them into the mundane world. Ideas should grow like seeds to allow the spirit contained in them to become effective. The intention of the spirit is to inspire, so that people are moved to new things. If an idea is perceived as a ray of hope, it is something that satisfies a need, then it has fruited and fulfilled its purpose. This is exactly why it was implanted into Aries.
An idea is the answer of the Divine Spirit to a need of nature. If an idea is carelessly performed or poorly communicated it will neither generate enthusiasm, nor will it ultimately satisfy nature’s need. That is why the Earth demands from an Aries-born that the original character of the idea should be preserved as much as possible during its implementation. It is necessary to grasp their core, to isolate it and to realize it successfully. It does not matter who implements this idea. Only its effectiveness counts. Effectiveness reveals whether the idea has failed and everything started is disintegrating, or whether the breakthrough, typical for an Aries, has been achieved.
The skilful handling of ideas and impulses requires a certain characteristic from the Aries-born. He himself must embody the new and unmistakable and endure it to distinguish himself from others to an above-average degree. In the process, he becomes more and more unique, but also more isolated. How else should the new be able to stand out from the uniformity of the familiar and, in this sense, the old? It needs him, the Aries, who reveals precisely this quality! But it isolates to be the first in a crowd to raise the word and to express his idea. It isolates to be the first to enter new territory and to be a pioneer. To be able to isolate oneself is a basic quality that is given to this type and is constantly challenged and tested anew by Mother Earth.
Isolation is often associated with loneliness. Everyone who develops individually is necessarily isolated. Therefore he does not need to be alone or lonely. Isolation only excludes the individual qualities of the human being. It creates the outstanding, on which the uniformity of the mass of people can rub, until the spark of enthusiasm leaps over.
The privilege of the youth is to resist the pressure of social traditions. During this period, man often meets the challenges of life with great enthusiasm. The first defeats, however, will be as sure as the Amen in Church. When circumstances are gnawing at the individuality and sharpness of one’s own characteristics and following the law of nature, when they are gradually getting crushed to uniformity, the true, living nature of Aries, his inner strength for isolation, is strongly demanded. It forms the basis for leaving behind all fears and doubts, and, due to the power of his own inner nature, to overcome the inertia of the outer nature and to stand up.
The negative way of dealing with this test is to insist on being and remaining different from others. The positive way is, independent of others to become more and more unmistakable, precisely because you stay with yourself. The mere stressing of differences, any form of separatism, and artificial originality makes no sense. These forces blow out because they renounce one’s own self and fall into pure obstinacy. From the beginning, the inner nature of Aries has been connected to others. This becomes visible as soon as they accept his impulses and ideas and allow to get inspired by them. He is a chalice of consciousness into which the ideas of the Divine Spirit flow in order to become effective and fulfil the needs of nature.
The Aries-born can get involved anywhere perfecting isolation. This means to bring ideas more and more clearly to the point, to distinctly break the crust of uniformity, to be a visible and yet an acceptable source of the new by remaining completely one he is according to his inner nature.
The synthesis of gift and test
Realize any idea that moves something within you so that it corresponds to you. Perceive what others really need. Then be courageous and do everything you can to ensure that your idea is accepted by others. If you fail with something, next time try to do it better and integrate others more. Then you will make the breakthrough. Pay attention to your inner rhythm!
